India sought help from Pakistan but why?

India has sought help from Pakistan to fight the locusts. The help has been sought in view of food security threats posed by locusts in various countries in South Asia and Southwest Asia.Citing Indian media, the daily Jang wrote that on condition of anonymity, a source said that India has proposed a trilateral strategy with Pakistan and Iran to combat desert locusts. He said that India has suggested the two countries to co-operate in locust control operations in the border areas and India is ready to provide Malathion to Pakistan to kill the locusts.He said that Pakistan and India have a formal mechanism under the leadership of "Locust Officers", with six annual meetings between these officers taking place between June and November. Negotiations take place in Mona Bay or in Khokhra Par. He said that the authorities of both the countries are also in wireless communication through the centres set up in Karachi and Jodhpur during these months.
