Chairman All Karachi Traders Union Atiq Mir termed this year as the worst Eid season in the history of the country and said that Corona virus and lockdown swallowed the Eid season.
According to details, in his statement, Chairman All Karachi Traders Union Atiq Mir said that less than Rs 10 billion was traded on Eid this year and more than 60% of the goods stocked in most shops could not be sold.Chairman Tajir Ittehad said that after the easing of lockdown, the influx of buyers in the markets proved to be artificial and only bustling window shopping was seen in most of the markets.Overall sales fell by less than a percentage point compared to last year, two months of business shutdowns and lockdowns affected the purchasing power of the people, most parents limited Eid shopping to children due to their inability to buy. There was no rush of buyers in the major markets.
Atiq Mir further said that with the increase in prices, the purchasing power of the buyers has also been depleted and the discounted sales in the big markets have not been able to attract the buyers.
