Another award for World Cup winning Pakistani captain Imran Khan, Australian Cricket Writers Association appoints him World XI captain
Pakistani captain Imran Khan, winner of the World Cup 92, received another award and was named captain of the Rest of the World XI, selected by the Australian Cricket Writers' Association.
The Australian Cricket Writers' Association has selected two fictional teams, one of which is captain of the rest of the world. Imran Khan, is the only Pakistani cricketer in the XI nominated along with Gordon Grange, Sunil Gavaskar, Vivian Richards, Sachin Tendulkar. Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakkara, Dale Steyn, Malcolm Marshall, Kirtley Ambrose and Murali Dharan.
Alan Border, captain of the Australian XI, was selected along with Justin Langer, Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith, Greg Chappell, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warren, Pat Cummins, Dennis Lilly and Glenn McGrath.
